Please mark your calendars to come to my personal fitness studio for our first healthy lifestyle speaker of 2015!
It all works together, so come and hear about pedicures with Loleita. Loleita will let us know how important it is to treat yourself to a regular pedicure. Spring is a great time to try something new. Loleita wraps your feet in warm towels with essential oils. This improves circulation. Help your toes thaw out as the weather gets warmer. Please RSVP to me. Loleita will be at my Hilliard studio Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30. Oh, and she will give a free 10 minute demonstration on the attendees!!! Sounds crazy, but exercise INCREASES your energy level!
I know that it's hard to get motivated to exercise with all of the Christmas preparations, but I want to encourage you to include exercise on your list of things to do. In fact, you can make your list while you're working out! :) After your workout, you'll accomplish things much more efficiently. Follow this link to read more about exercise increasing energy: http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20061103/exercise-fights-fatigue-boosts-energy. You may join a class at the Hilliard Senior Center on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:30, the Grove City Senior Center Fridays at 9:30 and 10:30, or you may prefer to schedule a time for one on one or small group coaching at my Hilliard fitness studio. Email or call me with any questions or feedback. The holidays have arrived. So have the reasons to give up regular exercise. I want to encourage you to keep up the good work. If you haven't started your health journey and need direction, please let me know. We'll develop a plan so you can become a healthier you!
Tis the Season for the Reasons! Here are a few reasons I've heard lately: 1) Brrr—it is wet, cold, blustery... Working out in the morning is the best way to kickstart the day and move more easily all day long! Bring a friend and enjoy the ride together! 2) I don’t have time to work out... Do you have time to be sick? Consistent exercise means a healthier you all year long. 3) Too many? Or perhaps no? holiday ( insert here: errands, parties, babysitting responsibilities, etc.)... Stress—be it eustress or distress—raises cortisol levels and lowers immunity. Exercise is a stress buster with added benefits of fighting holiday depression, keeping that metabolism revved up and improving bone density along with so many other positives! 4) I’ll start fresh in January... Ah, but you’ll feel SO much better if you keep going rather than backsliding. Let’s all start 2015 feeling the best we can! Happy YOU Year! I hope to see you very soon! Imagine the surprise when a member of the Grove City Senior Center stood from a chair with no pain for the first time in a very long time. Her face said it all!
This wonderful woman was trying to work through her pain by participating in exercises her body wasn't quite ready for. She was so determined to do floor work that she put her body at risk for pain and injury. When I showed her proper form and explained that she can modify her movements, she was very encouraged. She was so happy that she shared her good news with her friends. Now I am coaching them so they feel empowered and in control of their own body once again. When your body tells you it hurts, listen. I will help you understand your limits. I observe while you exercise so that I can design specific exercises for your needs. You will strengthen and tone your muscles so you don’t put pressure and unnecessary stress on your joints. Your muscles (not joints) should carry you through your daily activities. Allow me to show you how to improve your strength, stability, posture, endurance, and range of motion by using proper form. By building muscle, you decrease your risk of falling and feel more in control. If you are nervous to be in a group setting or prefer one on one coaching, my personal fitness studio is a good place for you. Call, text, or email me to set up an appointment. If you love to socialize while you work out, check out my website for class times and locations. Let me know if you have any questions! Opportunities are coming up! The New Lifestyle would like to invite you to join us Tuesday September 30 around 6:30 at Panini Opa immediately after our 5:30 fitness class at Northwest United Methodist Church. Part of our health journey is to de-stress. One way to accomplish this is to hang around positive, energizing, and encouraging people. You'll find that with our group at NWUMC. Feel welcome to join our 5:30 fitness class too. If you have only a bit of energy before class, see how it grows as the class continues! Exercise definitely helps our energy and our mood.
Taking care of ourselves is absolutely important! Our "to do" lists seem to multiply as we cross off an item. We put so much pressure on ourselves to be and do much more than we can handle while we drain our own tanks. Reality check! I second guessed myself when I was invited to go kayaking this weekend. How would I make up for lost time to accomplish my tasks? I had emails to send out, laundry to do, and the yard needed attention! Details, details. I took a deep breath and said yes to a fun filled weekend instead. I made the right decision! I am so REFRESHED!!!! The weather was beautiful. It was so peaceful on the water! Brian, Aurora, Cameron, and I were all by ourselves. We completely disconnected from our devices and bonded with each other! I felt peaceful and content. I gained perspective on what really matters. My tip for today is to recognize what really matters. Take time to nurture meaningful relationships! Topic: TOXICITY
